Enjoy the adventure of a Camel Safari, which takes you through the golden sands of the vast Thar Desert (Near Pushkar)- primeval, savage and lonely. Ride through sandy landscape, passing through remote villages. The "Aravalli Range" here are one of the world's oldest, and have sandy fields, small dunes, beautiful hills and mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets.
Camel races are the first event. Usually a lumbering beast of burden, the camel all decorated in finery, imagines itself to be an ostrich, and rushes through the race like one. Then comes the event analogous to musical chairs. Here, as the music stops, the camel is supposed to manage to stick its long arching neck between two poles, each camel owner guiding its entrant by means of a silken cord attached to its nose ring.Other Attraction
Temples and Ghats: The temples and Ghats are decorated to worship the Lords. A series of worship processes takes place during the festival. People visit the temples and take bath in the Pushkar lake. The temples of Pushkar comes to a new life during the celebrations. Shopping: The ghats and the surrounding areas of the lake becomes a mini Rajasthan market during the fair. Decorative items for Cattles, like saddles, saddle-straps and beads are sold. One can buy jewelry, garments, silver ornaments, bead necklaces, tie 'n' dye fabrics etc. Also for the Tatoo lovers, stalls for body tatoo are made all over.......... More
